The Hempel Foundation has always been a dedicated philanthropist. It was founded in 1948 by J.C. Hempel, a pioneer in the coating industry. He created the Foundation to secure the long-term growth and development of Hempel, as well as to support worthy causes.
Ever since, the Foundation has been committed to having positive influence by supporting causes around the world, focusing on empowering children in poor areas to access quality education, sustaining our planet’s biodiversity and supporting research of sustainable coating solutions.
iWitness
For more than 10 years, Hempel has given colleagues the opportunity to apply to experience first-hand the global philanthropic work of our owner, the Hempel Foundation. We call it the iWitness tour.
Joining from all over the world, iWitness tour participants bear witness to the great work of the Hempel Foundation and its partners. This experience gives colleagues valuable insights into what it means to work for a foundation-owned company and how they personally contribute through their daily efforts.
