New factory in Kuwait consolidates Hempel’s position as market leader in the Middle East

Hempel inaugurated a new factory in Mina Abdullah in Kuwait on 22 March. Built to ISO 9000 quality management guidelines, the new factory will meet growing demand for Hempel coatings in the region.

Hempel’s new factory in Mina Abdullah, Kuwait is the latest addition to its comprehensive global supply chain. In 2016 alone, Hempel added more than 28 million litres to our annual production capacity with investments in Russia, Malaysia and Vietnam.

With a 40 per cent higher capacity than Hempel’s existing production facility in Safat, Kuwait, the new factory in Mina Abdullah will help meet growing demand for Hempel coatings in Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It will be fully up and running by September 2017. Hempel’s existing factory in Safat will close later in the year.

The factory was opened at a ceremony attended by H.E. Ole Frijs-Madsen, the Danish Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, senior Hempel executives and employees, media representatives and other guests.
